Short / Long throw projectors not filling the HV-16103W and HV-1683

1 min read

When an installation of the Interactive whiteboards are done, it can either be a Short Throw (PX309) or a long throw (OP0454A). They main difference between these projectors is the distance from the board itself. In the instance of a HV16103W it is normally recommended to use an OP0454A as the board is too big for the short throw on a wall bracket to fill the board.

In the event that the image of your PC / Laptop is not completely filling the board, you can look at the below steps / suggestions to rectify the issue.

On the remote:

  1. Look on the remote for the “aspect” button
  2. Press this button until the image fills the required space
    • In the event of a HV1683 the aspect ratio should be 4:3 as it is a square image
    • In the event of a HV-16103W the aspect ratio should be either 16:9 or 16:10 if available as this is a rectangular shape
  3. By selecting the correct aspect ratio for your board, you should now have a perfect image.

If the above remote settings do not rectify the issue we need to look at the PC / Laptop resolutions:

4:3 aspect ratio resolutions: 640×480, 800×600, 960×720, 1024×768, 1280×960, 1400×1050, 1440×1080 , 1600×1200, 1856×1392, 1920×1440, and 2048×1536.
16:9 aspect ratio resolutions: 1024×576, 1152×648, 1280×720, 1366×768, 1600×900, 1920×1080, 2560×1440 and 3840×2160.
16:10 aspect ratio resolutions: – 1280×800, 1440×900, 1680×1050, 1920×1200 and 2560×1600.

Should the above not resolve your query, it could be possible that the projectors are installed to close or too far from the board. You may contact our coordinator to assist with team dates to rectify the issue. If Parrot did the installation the might not be a cost, but if the installation was done by the customer or yourself there might be a cost involved to rectify the installation.

Else you may log a ticket at pi.support@parrot.co.za
