When connecting the VC1080C to your network and trying to manage it via web browser without a usb connection you would need to follow the steps below to be able to access it:
Steps:
- Connect the camera to a network via the RJ45 port
- Connect the camera to a PC or Laptop via the supplied USB cable
- Once connected, open your camera app in Windows
- Press the menu button on the remote of the VC1080C
- Scroll to Network using the arrow keys
- Once there press the Home key or the right arrow key
- In this sub menu you will notice an IP address
- Make note of this IP address
- After acquiring the IP address as per the above open Internet Explorer
- Currently Internet Explorer is the only supported browser
- If you do not have Internet Explorer you can try and run the following in Internet Explorer Compatibility in Edge
- Enter the IP address in the address bar and press enter
- It will ask you to allow the program to run to which you will allow it
- Now you should see the Login page
- Username : admin
- Password : admin
- If admin as password does not work, leave it blank
Now you can control your camera via this browser, you are also able to set stream bitrates and camera settings without having to be connected to the camera via usb. Also please note that if you are not on the same network you will not have access to the camera. You can make this a public IP but your IT department or technician would need to assist with this.
