To upgrade the firmware on our IP range LED’s we need a flash drive with a FAT32 files system. The internal system picks up the FAT32 system to perform an upgrade of the firmware. In most cases if the flash drive is larger than 32Gb it won’t allow you to format in FAT32, we then use Rufus to format the drive. The follow steps will guide you through how to do this:
Step 1:
Download Rufus from the below link / or google rufus and download it from the developer site:
https://github.com/pbatard/rufus/releases/download/v4.5/rufus-4.5p.exe
Step 2:
Plug your drive into your pc / laptop and open the downloaded Rufus program. It will look similar to the image below:

Step 3:
Now we select the boot mode. Since this is just a “Clean” drive we select “non bootable” in the Boot selection option:

Step 4:
After selecting the boot mode, we go to the Format section. Here you can name the drive under “Volume Label”. And select the FAT32 option under “File system”.

Step 5:
After making the selection above you may click on “Start”. It will warn you that data will be lost as it will clear everything from the drive:

After clicking ok on the above warning, it will start formatting the drive to FAT32. Upon completion you can transfer the required firmware files and perform an upgrade on your IP range LED as per the steps in our other KB around Firmware upgrades.
