Below are some of the most frequent questions and issues that we receive pertaining to MacBook devices. This is a running list and will be updated on a regular basis to ensure that we have the most relevant solutions at all times. - How to install Software and Drivers
- Mac uses two file types
- .pkg
- .dmg
To install it is a simple double click and you can follow the prompts on screen.
- Common issues during installation:
- pkg / dmg is not compatible with Mac OS
- Check Parrot.co.za for the latest drivers
- I this does not work notify Delian Enslin to get latest
- Installer does not work
- Right click on the driver icon
- Select open with
- Select Installer (Default)
- From time to time this will work and bypass the problem
- Permissions Required to run
- It will ask to open System Properties
- Continue to System Properties and click on the Lock icon located in the bottom left of System Properties
- At this point you will need the password of the owner of the Mac.
- Select the tick box next to either the Teach Infinity driver or Whiteboard driver
- You would need to do this in a couple of places.
- Accessibility
- System
- It will navigate you to all the places it needs.
- Once done click on the lock icon again to secure changes.
- A restart after installation will be required as it might need more places for permissions to be allocated.
- pkg / dmg is not compatible with Mac OS
- Calibration of the board
- This is the same as on a windows machine. Select the icon located in the top bar (pc screen with green dot)
- Select Calibration
- Follow prompts on screen.
- Issues during calibration
- Calibration remains incorrect
- This could be due to screen resolutions not matching the calibration selected.
- Close Teach Infinity driver
- Open System preferences
- Click on the Apple located in the to left corner and select System properties
- Go to Display / Screens
- Once open select the projector / screen connected to the Mac.
- Ensure the resolution is selected that is compatible with the board 4:3 or 16:9 resolutions. Normally if you scale it to 1920 X 1080 it works, but definitely try and match the built-in screen resolution which may differ from Mac to Mac.
- Once this has been done, open the Teach infinity driver again and try and calibrate.
- Additional permissions might be required so you can follow the above permission steps to rectify this
- This could be due to screen resolutions not matching the calibration selected.
- Calibration remains incorrect
- LED vs IR Board
- It is not natively built in to work with touch for any of our solutions so you will always need to install the drivers.
- Multi Touch on LED
- There is a third-party Driver for the LED’s that could support 5-point touch. This will be available on the Parrot Website
- Mutli Touch on IR Boards
- There is no multi touch and it only supports single touch
